Dr. Guandong Xu is currently a Postdoc Research Fellow in the Intelligent Web and Information Systems group (IWIS) at the Department of Computer Science of Aalborg University, Denmark. Prior to this he was a research fellow in the Centre for Applied Informatics, Victoria University. He gained PhD degree in Computer Science from Victoria University, Australia in 2008. He completed MSc and BSc study in Computer Science and Engineering from Zhejiang University, China, respectively.

Prior to his PhD study in Victoria University, he has worked in Wenzhou University, China for many years. He is an Endeavour Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the University of Tokyo in 2008, which is supported by the Australian Federal government. He was a recipient of 2007 Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Aboard, Ministry of Education (MOE), China. In 2009 he was a winner of President's Citation Award of Excellence in Research and Research Training Category of Victoria University.
